PC Registry Review

System Mechanic is ranked as one of the more popular registry cleaners. According to System Mechanic, their program can detect and remove common registry errors and help your computer run faster and with less problems. But does System Mechanic really live up to its claims?

System Mechanic registry cleaner was designed by iolo. The company is a Microsoft Certified partner. To be a Microsoft Certified partner, iolo is required to meet certain standards that are set by the Microsoft corporation. This ensures that you receive a high quality product.

According the System Mechanic, the program works a PC startup optimizer, hard disk repairer, registry cleaner, secure file wiper, degragmenter, application uninstaller, and more. After System Mechanic completes its job, your computer is supposed to crash less and run faster. We are going to take a look at how well System Mechanic really works and whether or not it holds up to its claims.

One System Mechanic is installed, it pulls up the operator control board. This is both easy to use and easy to understand. The control board provides a gauge that informs you how your PC is doing. Unfortunately, however, System Mechanic places advertisements for their other products on the control board as well. The advertisements, while obnoxious, do not seem to interfere with the software’s functionality.

The program offers the option to either clean up the errors automatically or to customize the tasks it performs. System Mechanic really shines in this area. After all of the repair options are selected, System Mechanic indicates how the changes can affect the PC. This is a great feature when comparing System Mechanic to some of its competitors that simply start fixing errors without educating you on how the changes can affect your computer.

System Mechanic provides a progress bar, once the repairs start, that indicates where the system is at in the repairs and what it is repairing. These initial repairs are generally repaired rather quickly. However, hard drive errors may require a system restart. These errors can take a substantial amount of time to repair.

Speed and performance does seem to improve once the system restarts. Desktop startup is faster, internet speed is increased, and applications load faster. This indicates some very good cleaning and repair.

Unfortunately, the specifics about how the software performed this cleaning and repair is left a mystery. This can be a little frustrating, especially for users who want to know why and how their PC was repaired. However, this problem is still rather minor.

After taking a look at all factors, we found System Mechanic to be a high quality registry cleaning software that really can enhance the performance of your PC. All issues found with System Mechanic were minor and did not seem to interfere with the software’s performance. After taking a look at everything, System Mechanic was found to be a worthwhile investment.
